So my wife and I originally planned on adopting a kitten but this sweet girl got our attention. Was very loving and affectionate seconds after meeting her. She’s ten years old, original owner passed away. She’s still a bit nervous, was hiding between the wall and couch for almost two hours. She’s slowly coming around though.

what a sweet heart.
god on you for taking in an older kitty. It
breaks my heart seeing the older cats in shelters. I dont go there because i’d come home with like 20 cats

It really is a shame how no one really even looked at the older cats. While we were there at least four kittens got adopted but not a single older one. She was very calm. Didn’t make a sound during the car ride home. Was in one of those temporary cardboard carriers. She’s barely eating but I think it’s normal. Still adapting to everything. She is scent marking both of us though and purring whi le doing it so that’s a good sign.
